Moonaralla Dairy
Western Australia's largest dairy to date powered by a POLYPHAZ single to three phase converter.
IMPORTANT
The output of the converter could be used to operate all loads in any order
or sequence with no modification of equipment that may or may not contained
microprocessors etc, as a POLYPHAZ
rotary converter is a linear device & produces a smooth sine wave similar
to utility supplied three phase power .
Also Built to keep vermin
out
Three phase power at this location was very expensive, clearly the most reliable & cost effective option both for running costs, initial outlay & from a maintenance point of view was to have all three phase equipment to operate the dairy. Suitable single phase equipment was available to operate the dairy, however it could not be operated at this location due to the increased power consumption of the single phase equipment & was not cost effective in comparison to the converter & three phase equipment combination.
Some further advantages in using a "POLYPHAZ" rotary converter are that all the equipment down stream of the converter operates at close unity power factor thereby maximizing the capacity of supply transformers and cabling and reducing running costs. This system also uses the latest VOLTRAK & FAULTRAK systems which provides a balanced three phase output to match the load thereby increasing efficiency and performance of all three phase equipment .
